This process is used in the production of 10, 50 or a few hundred textured and colored plastic parts. These products are usually used for testing or marketing purposes. Vacuum Casting process begins with the creation of a 3D CAD model of the physical master model which is later 3D printed. This master model is then finished and painted as per the requirement.
Liquid silicon is poured all around the physical master model and is then cured in an oven. The master model is then removed which leaves behind the cavity. After this the pigmented polyurethane materials are poured in the empty cavity under a vacuum and after its solidification the final part is obtained from the mold.
